The Living Room

The living room is cosy and relaxing, with comfortable seating for four people. There are doors off to the ‘Blue Room’ (the kingsize/Twin bedroom) and to a lobby which leads to the bathroom, the Courtyard garden, and the kitchen – and from there on to the dining room.

The flat-screen Smart-TV is connected to the internet and so has additional (Freeview) channels plus Catch-Up TV such as BBC i-Player, and Radio Stations. It also plays DVD movies and music CDs. Flint Cottage also has FREE Wi-Fi (wireless broadband internet access), and is equipped with a selection of books, maps, guides, and board/card games for guests to use. A feature of the living room is the log-burner – which is perfect for cosy, real log-fires and makes ‘Flint Cottage’ just as popular in winter as in summer. Plus we’ve added a USB charging socket by the sofa.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has an electric double oven, gas hob, large fridge-freezer (fridge at top), and a dishwasher. The kitchen is fully-equipped for modern living, with a microwave and small appliances - including an electric kettle, toaster, and a Tassimo coffee-maker, plus cafetiere.

 

The beautiful, hand-made pine dresser is a real feature, and houses a collection of period kitchen memorabilia. 

 

There is plenty of crockery, cutlery, glasses and bakeware, plus initial supplies of tea, coffee, etc. Also provided is a kitchen towel, oven-mitts, plenty of tea-towels and some larder essentials (such as foil, salt & pepper, etc.).

 

Also in the kitchen is a washing machine, an iron & ironing board. (There is a washing-line in the courtyard.)

The Bedrooms

Both bedrooms have windows at the front of the Cottage, with views of the front garden and the terraced Victorian houses in the street beyond. The beds are made up for your arrival, with crisp-cotton bedlinen, a duvet, and 4 large pillows per bed.  Large, fluffy, freshly-laundered towels are laid out, ready for you to use. Each bedroom has a built-in wardrobe, plenty of drawer-space, lamps, and a hairdryer. 

 

Both bedrooms have a USB charging socket either side of the bed.

The master bedroom can be arranged as either a Kingsize Double or as a Twin room – with two 2’6 single beds. Please state your preference at time of booking.

The Dining Room

The sunny dining room overlooks the pretty Courtyard garden at the back of the cottage – perfect at breakfast! The dining table comfortably seats 4 people.

The Bathroom

The bathroom has a full-length bath which has been set lower (to make it easier to get in and out). The bath has hand-grips either side, and a dual shower over (a fixed overhead shower plus adjustable and/or hand-held shower). There is also a shaver-point, a handy shelf for toiletries, plus a towel-radiator.

Large, home-laundered white bath-towels are provided.

The Courtyard Garden

The pretty courtyard garden is accessed via the lobby next to the kitchen, and is solely for use by guests staying at ‘Flint Cottage’. There is a table and four comfortable chairs, plus a large parasol – for very warm weather. Seat-pads for the chairs are also provided should you need them (stored in the kitchen). Perfect for al fresco lunches, drinks on a summers evening, or lazy mornings with coffee and the newspapers.

The Courtyard is very sheltered and a little sun-trap, so it is often warm enough to sit out during the early spring and late autumn too.

It also provides a very pleasant view from the dining room during breakfast, making it a very peaceful and relaxing way to start the day.

Heating & Hot Water
Flint Cottage has full gas central-heating, with thermostatic-controlled radiators in each room and a Room Thermostat in the Sitting Room.

Flooring
The bedrooms and living room have period-style wooden flooring, and there are tiled floors throughout the rest of the Cottage.
