Parked Cars

Where would I park?

You would park ‘roadside’ when you’re staying in one of our Holiday Cottages. Parking won’t be a problem for you – Saxmundham is a quiet town. You will probably be able to park right outside the property if you are staying at ‘Flint Cottage‘, otherwise just along the road or around the corner.  (usually no more than 50 to 100 yards away). Chapel Road is quite narrow, so you cannot park right outside ‘Chapel Cottage‘ – but you may be able to park right opposite. ‘Corner Cottage‘ has double yellow lines around it – which is great, because no-one can park right outside and spoil your views from the windows. You can park right outside the front door to unload your luggage then just park up permanently a bit further along the road.

Where are the nearest EV Charging Points?

There are 6 EV Charging points in Saxmundham itself - at the back of the Library, in Street Farm Road (approx 5 to 10 mins walk).
There are also Charging points around the area - including at Snape, Darsham, and Southwold.

Do the cottages have central heating?

Yes – all the cottages have full gas Central Heating, with a Room Thermostat which is very easy to operate so you can control the temperature at the cottage yourself.

All the Cottages also have thermostat valves on each radiator, so you can adjust the temperature in each room. This way you can make the bedrooms cooler than the living room, for example, without needing to turn down the temperature as whole.

Is there Wi-Fi at the cottages?

All of our Holiday Cottages have FREE Unlimited access to Broadband WiFi, which is Fibre and the fastest available. The Smart TVs are connected to the Internet so you will also have extra Channels, i-Player and other Catch-Up TV. WiFi Codes are provided on your Arrival.

White Bed Linen

Is bedlinen provided?

Yes – all bedding (duvets and pillows) and bed linen (sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases) are provided, so you don’t need to bring anything. The bed(s) are made up for you, ready for your arrival – so there’s nothing you need to do after your journey.

Rolled Spa Towels

Are towels provided?

Yes – freshly home laundered towels are provided. Thick white towels. One hand towel, and one ‘bath-sheet’ sized bath towel per person. We also provide a hand-towel in the bathroom and in the kitchen, and plenty of tea-towels. We don’t, however, provide beach-towels, so you will need to bring your own.

Cookapoo Dog

Which is the best cottage to choose if we want to bring our dog on holiday with us?

All our cottages are ‘dog-friendly’, we make family pets very welcome, but please bear in mind that they are not suitable for large or boisterous dogs – we only permit small (or very small), clean and well-behaved dogs. If you are planning to bring your dog with you on your holiday, in addition to looking at the details of the Holiday Cottage itself you should also read our Pet Policy and our Terms & Conditions. In addition, our page on ‘Holidaying with your Dog’ will provide useful information.

Walkers

Which is the best cottage to choose if I am a bit unsteady on my feet?

Both Flint Cottage and Corner Cottage are single-storey Holiday Cottages, so there are no stairs. They both have ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms. All the rooms are on one level, with no steps - just normal thresholds in some doorways at Flint Cottage and extra flat thresholds at Corner Cottage. There is level access (over just a doorway threshold) into the Courtyard at the back of Flint Cottage, and Corner Cottage has just two steps down into the alleyway and one step up to the level surfaced little Courtyard area at the back. The bathrooms have baths, with showers over the bath, and both baths have grip-handles on the sides. There is also a hand-rail on the wall in the bathroom at Flint Cottage. At Corner Cottage the bath is a especially ‘low-set’, and with a flatter bottom to the bath – making it easier to stand in. Corner Cottage has recently been totally refurbished, so we were able to incorporate many such things to make your stay even easier if you have some mobility difficulties.

See the Accessibility page also.

Baby

Are there any facilities at the cottages for babies?

Yes – for young babies (infants/babes in arms), we can provide a cot – free of charge. Just let us know when you book. Baby bottle-warmers will fit in all our microwave ovens. For slightly older children, we can provide a highchair. Again, this is free of charge – just let us know when you book. For the entertainment of children (or those young at heart!), there are some DVDs of childrens’ movies, and a few childrens’ books.

Shopping Basket

Where is the nearest shop?

The nearest shop is a convenience store about 450 yards away, in the Market Place. But walk another 50 yards and you’ll be in the High Street where you’ll find all the shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries, the town Museum, and the two supermarkets – Waitrose and Tesco.

See the Saxmundham page, to find out more about what’s in the town.
